It’s time for a confession. I love watching PragerU videos. Imagine Fox News with evidence and logic instead of ranting and raving. They make me pause and question. They make me realize there are some pretty smart people out there who are not on my side of the fence. There are so many lessons I could open with a viewing of a PragerU video.
Watch the video, “Miseducated: The Decline of America’s Schools.” Here are some essential questions posed by PragerU. After watching the video, how might you answer each of these questions?
“Why are schools obsessed with race and gender issues? Why are children learning revisionist history? Why are America’s schools teaching children to hate America — and each other?”
Your answers might come in handy the next time a parent or neighbor asks the same questions.
your visual and your text seem in contradiction :-)… I actually think it is a good exercise to find sources that don't make you want to hurl… it helps you humanize the other side in a way that keeps doors open. It becomes a conversation and not a division or tribal combat. The truth is that those questions are worth battling over … we should always question our biases and try to see things in different ways… full confession, I did not have the stomach to actually watch the video… but i will keep this in mind and attempt to go to it when the day has been less toxic 😉
Loved reading this perceptive and open mindedness to people/groups with opinions and agendas other than our own. This would come in useful when we are talking to that parent who does not agree with the direction of our content or to help us check our own biases when presenting in class. Thanks for the resource!
